Scott, an ultra-endurance athlete and trail guide, uses WALX poles to boost efficiency, reduce fatigue, and help runners of all levels enjoy the trails.

I’m a passionate trail runner, ultra-endurance athlete, and founder of WildStride—a Dorset-based running experience that blends guided trail runs, movement-focused retreats, and community connection through nature.

Running started as a personal goal—to get fit and feel more in control. But it quickly became more than that. It became a tool for building confidence, managing wellbeing, and most of all, connecting with others. Over time, it’s taken me from road jogs to ultramarathons and helped shape who I am.

Now, I balance my training for long-distance events (including an upcoming 100km ultra) withleading inclusive, non-competitive trail runs for locals and holidaymakers alike on the stunning Isle of Purbeck. With a background in Sports Management, I’m also a qualified personal trainer, fully insured, and first aid trained—offering a safe, welcoming experience for runners of all backgrounds.

As a husband, father, and dog owner, I understand how hard it can be to balance family life, fitness, and freedom. WildStride is my way of making that easier for others. Whether you’re chasing peace, connection, or just some time off the tarmac, I’ll guide you there—step by step.

Why I Use WALX Poles

For longer distances and technical terrain, WALX poles are a game-changer. They help me manage elevation, reduce leg fatigue, and improve my efficiency across uneven ground. Whether I’m training for an ultra or leading a relaxed group run, poles allow me to movesmarter, not harder.

They’re especially valuable when guiding mixed-ability groups. With WALX poles, beginners gain confidence and balance, while seasoned runners conserve energy and improve posture—making trail running more sustainable and enjoyable for everyone.
